Picco Puppy Loves Soccer is a fun, empowering soccer book for 2-8 year olds, based on an inspiring true story of persistence and perseverance, with cute cartoon-like pictures.
In this fun, rhyming, moral story, children learn the value of practice, perseverance, and a never-give-up attitude.
Picco Puppy Loves Soccer is based on the inspiring true story of a little boy who wanted to play in a local soccer team with his friends. He found the basic skills required to play soccer, such as running, dribbling, and kicking a soccer ball, a real challenge.
Despite the adversity, with encouragement from his family and friends, he tried his best every game and dreamed about scoring a goal. Every week, he would go home disappointed. But he never gave up on his dream.
With courage, perseverance, and a never-give-up attitude, the little boy finally triumphed in the face of adversity and fulfilled his dream of scoring a goal – in the 16th game of the season!
The second book in the Picco Puppy picture book series is a fun, easy-to-read, rhyming moral story of fiction, with cute, colorful cartoon illustrations for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 year old boys and girls.
This is a lovely illustrated book, it’s a good book to read at bedtime and for the child. Not everyone gets it right the first time and this book is about persevering to get it right – just like Picco, who is not good at playing football and requires to keep on going to succeed. It is all about improving and getting better. The story is about friends, family and is such an inspiration. A lovely book to give a child confidence and if Picco can do it so can they.

Excellent choice for read-aloud

Picco Puppy Loves Soccer is about more than persevering against all odds. It adds a story of encouragement that provides a gentle lesson not just to those who want to achieve against all odds, but friends and family, who should be gently supportive. This picture book is an excellent choice for read-aloud and for boosting fragile egos that face failure from activities they would otherwise love. Arkhan Studio’s big, bright pictures enhance the encouraging tale of a little dog who perseveres, is supported in his goals, and eventually achieves his dream in a surprising way.

Great life lesson in an adorable story

Great life lesson in an adorable story. I love this book! It’s a great lesson for the kids that even if we aren’t good at something in the beginning if we don’t give up and keep practicing we will get better! My son (age 7) can read it on his own and since he’s in soccer right now related a lot to the cute little puppy. My other kids (2 and 5) have been asking for the next Picco Puppy book!

A cute story to help teach kids the value of practice. An example of how practice will help a child improve skills. Picco is not very good at football (soccer) and needs to be told to keep trying. At each step he improves. A good book to read to children and I intend to do just that.

Michael Wong’s inspirational picture book for children, Picco Puppy Loves Soccer, charts the progress Picco makes as he strives to run, kick and score a goal. Some kids are naturally gifted at sports; others have to work a bit harder. Wong’s story tells kids that it’s okay to not be the best right away. The key is to keep on trying to do your best, and Picco does just that. He doesn’t get discouraged and keeps on trying. The result? He becomes a champion! Wong’s story will resonate with many kids, even those who run fast and are strong without effort. Everyone has something they struggle with. Arkhan Studio’s illustrations are brightly colored and cheerful, and they work perfectly with this upbeat and motivational story. Don’t forget to try the math puzzle at the end of the story and visit the link provided for coloring opportunities. Picco Puppy Loves Soccer is most highly recommended.

Perfect gift for your children

Picco Puppy Loves Soccer is a very simple and easy to understand tale that young children are sure to enjoy. It’s a picture book with bright, colorful pictures of Picco Puppy, his family, and his friends. These illustrations are full of motion as Picco plays soccer and continuously tries to get better at the sport. This is a valuable lesson you’ll want to share with children. At their age, they’ll be trying new hobbies and new skills all the time and it is to be expected that they won’t be perfect at all of them right off the bat. This can be dismaying for eager and excited young kids. Seeing Picco learn to never give up will be helpful in giving them a strong work ethic. This would be a perfect gift for your children, grandchildren, or to donate to kindergarten classrooms.

Children would gain so much inspiration from this book
September 10, 2019
The subject matter of this delightful book is very well written and has such an underlying powerful and positive message. I love the plot where a little puppy has a dream and will not give up until he achieves his goal. I also thought the support he gains every week from his parents and friends is simply brilliant. I think children would gain so much inspiration from this book and there are so many possibilities throughout for children and parents/teachers to have a discussion about the importance of following your dreams in life. The illustrations were simple but really effective and again there were discussion possibilities there too. The female characters were perfect as they played soccer but didn’t lose their femininity. This book is going to give small children so much confidence to keep persevering and to never give up at the first hurdle. The printable option at the end of the book is such a great addition. Perfect.
