Picco Puppy’s Counting Book provides an inspiring and infectiously fun way for parents to introduce numbers and counting to their pre-k children. Incorporating searches with counting does so brilliantly, and the repetition, which is so vital to retention, becomes automatic and enjoyable. Picco, Poppi and their parents are the perfect companions and guides as the Find and Count games get more complicated with each number. Where are those pesky dinosaurs, turtles, trains and tiny Piccos? Finding them can take some effort as their hiding places are quite clever. Wong also covers primary and secondary colors in this book, which sharpens the young reader’s counting and searching skills. Arkhan Studio’s illustrations are boldly and brightly colored, and they make this entertaining family feel real. Picco Puppy’s Counting Book: Picco Puppy, Book 4 is most highly recommended.
